The original CX500 proved to be a huge favourite with couriers and messengers, who appreciated its handling characteristics and reliability. Commonly known as the “Plastic Maggot”, it was followed by Custom, Deluxe and Eurosport variants, the SilverWing GL tourers and, of course, the mighty CX500T and CX650T turbos!

This site is designed to provide you with information, useful I hope, about the range of bikes and about this beautiful island that I get to ride around.

There are links to a good number of the various bike clubs based on the CX and GL range, both in the UK and around Europe. There are a number of links to all sorts of useful parts suppliers, both for the bikes themselves and for accessories. There are also some links to other sites where you can get plenty of technical help with maintenance and repair of your CX or GL.

You can see all about the Guernsey CX & GL V-Twins Rally 2010 which was held over the weekend of 17 to 19 September 2010. This was the first rally of its kind to be held in Guernsey, so make sure you put the next one in your diary! You can navigate to the Rally page from anywhere by clicking on the “donkey” logo.

Personally, I currently own four bikes in the range: a 1978 CX500Z, a 1982 CX500B (with an “A” engine in it), a 1983 CX650C Custom and a 1983 GL650DE SilverWing baby grand tourer.
